National Infantry Museum Complex
The National Infantry Museum at Fort Benning is
a new, world-class museum which has been built to honor
the Infantry. It tells the story of our ground Soldiers from the
colonial period to Operation Iraqi Freedom. The museum is located just off Fort Benning Road, about two miles south of Victory Drive.
Inside the museum you find a diversity of history
preserved and presented in an educational environment. You will not
want to miss visiting this museum during your stay in the Fort Benning Area.
Chattahoochee Riverwalk
The Chattahoochee Riverwalk is one of the city's primere tourist
attractions. The riverwalk consists of a picturesque 22-mile linear park along the bank of the Chattahooche River.
The park provides for an asphalt trail with restrooms and access to
all persons. Riverwalk begins at the National Infantry
Museum Complex and continues through downtown Columbus, Georgia.
Coca-Cola Space Science Center
The Coca-Cola Space Science Center in Columbus, Georgia is a
division of Columbus State University. The Center is located
in uptown Columbus along the beautiful Chattahooche Riverwalk.
The Center features inactive displays and exhibits including the
Challenger Learning Center, the Omnisphere Theater, and the Mead
Observatory. Hours of operation are Monday through
Friday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Saturday 10:30 am to 8:00 pm. The
Center is located at 701 Front Ave, Columbus, GA 31901.
National Civil War Naval Museum
The National Civil War Naval Museum located at 1002 Victory Drive, Columbus, Georgia features
two original Civil War military vessels, uniforms, equipment and weapons used by the Union and
Confederate navies. Many interactive exhibits offer visitors an opportunity to experience 19th
century naval combat first hand. Visit the museum's
